(MenaFN- KNN India) Telecom Skills Council and SBI set up job-based training facility for women in Gurgaon

Gurugram, November 29 (KNN) Aiming to provide placement-linked skill development courses, the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) on Monday signed an agreement with SBI Card and Payment Services to set up a Telecom Center of Excellence (CoE) at Government College for Girls, Gurugram.



CoE is being launched under CSR initiative for women empowerment. The center is set to provide short-term courses on National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) and National Curriculum Framework (NCF) on telecom services job roles, an official statement said.

Under this partnership, TSSC will train 763 women over the next two years.

‘The CSR project under this collaboration will be a relevant boost to the skills of the female youth and help them inculcate the spirit of self-reliance to explore new work roles. This important partnership with SBI Card for CSR is a step forward in equalizing opportunities and empowering women,’ said TSSC CEO Arvind Bali.

The CSR project was conceived under TSSC’s Livelihood Enhancement and Promotion (LEAP) program to cater for basic and intermediate skill building for upcoming and legacy telecom courses.
