Police in Bensalem, Pennsylvania arrested a 16-year-old boy on Friday after allegedly killing a girl and turning to Instagram for help disposing of the body.
Bensalem Police said a 9-1-1 call came from a group of parents who reported their daughter had received an Instagram video message from a 16-year-old friend, later identified as Joshua. 16-year-old Cooper, who said he just killed someone.
In the video, Cooper changes the video footage to show the man’s legs covered in blood, before calling for help to dispose of the body.
Police said they were tipped off that Cooper was living on the Ridge Trailer Park in Bensalem, and officers went to check on the property.
When officers arrived, police said, a juvenile ran away from the back of the vehicle.
Officers then entered the home and found a girl dead on the bathroom floor with a gunshot wound.
Police said they also saw “extensive efforts” being made to clean up the area.
Other officers searched for Cooper, and a short time later he was located and arrested.
Cooper was charged as an adult with criminal homicide, possession of criminal tools, and tampering with evidence.
He was arraigned in Bucks County District Court, where Judge Stacy Wertman denied bail for the suspect and sent him to Edison Juvenile Detention Center.
Police urge anyone with information about the incident to contact Detective Ryan Kolb at 215-633-3746 or Detective Shawn Smith at 215-633-3687.
