In a strange wedding ceremony, two dogs will be married by their owners in Gurgaon’s Palam Vihar Extension on Sunday evening. The owners have made all the arrangements for this unconventional wedding ceremony by organizing matches between their pet dogs.
Sheru (male dog) and Sweety (female dog) will take ‘ferras’ around 8.30 pm According to pet owners, 100 invitation cards have been sent for the wedding in a neighborhood of Jile Singh Colony in Palam Bihar Extension. They will attend the wedding ceremony as ‘Baratis’
Rani, the woman who raised Sweety, said: “I did not have children so my husband brought Sweety from a local temple 3 years ago and since then I raised Sweety as his child.”
“Through this marriage, we now have the opportunity to perform a `Kanyadan’ as per Hindu rituals,” he added. Eight-year-old dog Sheru was picked up from the street and adopted by a childless couple.
