B&B By The Sea is a new TV series set in a unique beachfront retreat in Downhill Beach – with the first guests to check it out on Friday (25 November).
In the first episode, Strictly Come Dancing’s Shirley Ballas is the first to arrive at the Victorian guest house.
Apart from the calm nature it will not be the rest and relaxation of the famous faces looking to reconnect with the sea and the coast.
The wonderful location overlooking Downhill Beach and located under the Temple of Mussenden is a quiet place and offers our guests the opportunity to explore their connection with the sea, to acquire new skills and a new perspective through a range of activities.
Hostess Sharon McIlveen, gardener Mary Anne Farenden, driver Rory O’Kane – who has extensive local knowledge – and Michelin star chef Alex Greene are on hand to welcome celebrity guests to the B&B.
Thinking she’ll be able to take a break from her busy schedule, Latin Queen Shirley quickly takes a job at a pig farm in Bushmills and learns to make pottery.
Newbie Shirley slips on her apron to help chef Alex create a delicious meal for the guests using the best local produce. On the menu are roast pork belly and boozy pudding to get everyone in the mood to dance.
In episode two, Dragons’ Den financier Deborah Meaden has a unique connection at sea that makes this a personal visit for a TV star who has never visited Northern Ireland – or cooked a meal – before.
The entire series will be available on BBC iPlayer after the first episode on BBC One Northern Ireland at 7.30pm on Friday (25 November).
