The Advertising Standards Authority upheld the objections and spoke directly to Stacey with the matter being said to have been ‘informally resolved’ on 2 November.

A spokesperson for the ASA said: “We received two complaints about an Instagram post on Stacey Solomon’s Instagram account.

“Critics raised concerns that the ad was a hoax, which was not proven to be the case.

“We reached out to the reader about the concerns raised, and confirmed that the post was legitimate.

“They informed us that it was a random mistake that meant the ad was not labeled as such and assured us that the surrounding information reflected the AD label.

“We were told that the future of social media will involve proper hashtags and captions.

“On that basis we decided the case.”

In April 2020, the Loose Women group was banned by the ASA for posting misleading ads on Micha Lounge apron, shabby2chic washing machine soap and Infantino Squeeze Station, a baby food product.

In a similar response to the current case, the ASA accepted Stacey’s agreement that it would not appear again, saying: “We contacted Stacey who informed us that the ads are no longer online. since Instagram stories are dead, but they’re going to make the future. Posts are definitely labeled as posts.”

Mother-of-four Stacey, who is married to former EastEnders actor Joe Swash, is one of TV’s most popular celebrities with 5.4 million followers on Instagram.
