Four teenagers are accused of killing a South Carolina serial killer after he punished them for their Instagram use by taking over their computers, according to local reports.

Three 14-year-olds and a 15-year-old hatched a plan to kill the victim, 38-year-old Larry Ingram Jr., on November 14 after he allegedly beat two of they – who are related to her – took their laptops, the Charlotte Observer reported.

Investigators said Ingram did not approve of young people’s use of Instagram.

The teenagers, angry about the punishment, allegedly stabbed Ingram to his death in his Rock Hill home, Rock Hill police Detective Eric Olson said in family court Tuesday, according to to exit.

The youths kicked and threw objects at Ingram’s door until he went inside his apartment, the detective said.

Once inside the house, Ingram was shot in the back and fell to the floor, where he was shot again, Olson testified.

Olson described the wound as “fatal.”

The police brought the murder weapon, a Glock pistol, wrapped in clothes and hidden in the nearby woods.

The teenagers were arrested hours after the fatal shooting, and each was charged with murder and attempted murder. They have been in the custody of the South Carolina Department of Child Services since their arrest.

Three of the four appeared in court for the first time on Tuesday, where Family Court Judge Kimaka Nichols-Graham ordered them to remain in custody, according to the Observer.

Prosecutors have asked the court to try the three teenagers as adults.

The fourth defendant will be in court in the coming days.
