Dwight Howard has a message for Shaquille O’Neal: “Stop the hate.”
The latest battle of words between the former NBA greats came to fruition when O’Neal eclipsed Howard’s 38 points, 25 rebounds and nine assists in his T1 League debut of Taiwan last week.
O’Neal took a dig at the ex-Laker on Thursday The Great Podcastsaying that Howard “needs 30 points playing against 5-8 dudes” and compares the league to the “Life Time Fitness League”.

Howard is back now.
“This message is for Shaquille O’Neal,” Howard said during an Instagram Live event.
“The first thing I want to say is, stop hating on you brother. Stop hating. I never reached out to you about your basketball career, your family, kids, or anything else. the fact that there is no reason. The world is too big to hate another person.
“Have I made fun of you, imitated your voice, imitated what you see on TV? Everyone does it. Comedians do it. People work all the time. And I do it all the time, I do it to everyone. But I don’t hate people.
“So stop hating. I saw a video of you guys talking about me playing basketball in Taiwan, I’m playing in the ‘Life Time Fitness League’. Don’t underestimate my friends in this league and these Taiwanese people are like that. They are very disrespectful and hateful.
“So you’re too old to be bad. You’re too old to be bad. You’re Superman, the original Superman. Shaquille O’Neal. Is the original Superman bad? Is the OG Superman bad? Come on man.”
It’s not the first time O’Neal has criticized Howard.
After the Lakers won the title during the NBA bubble season in 2020, Howard posted a lot about winning his first career title on his Instagram. O’Neal — who won three straight titles with the Lakers alongside Kobe Bryant from 1999-2002 and another in 2006 with the Heat alongside Dwayne Wade — said Howard “carrier” for his work with LA.

Howard, who spent his first eight years in the NBA with the Magic, also had stints with the Rockets, Hawks, Hornets, Wizards and 76ers, as well as three different stints with the Lakers. An eight-time All-Star and five-time All-NBA first-teamer, Howard averaged 6.2 points and 5.9 rebounds last season against the Lakers before the 36-year-old to bring his talents to Taiwan.
Howard added that his current 265 pounds is “not 390 pounds” and “the best in my life”.
“You know you have to work hard to get rebounds. And I’ve had a lot of rebounds in my life,” Howard said.
“I’m not angry. But come on, you’re too old, too old to hate other people.”
