I think Samsung’s QLED TVs are some of the best TVs you can buy – and I put my money where my mouth was earlier this year when I bought them. If you’re not familiar with Samsung’s Neo QLED technology, it’s a mix of Samsung’s Quantum Dot tech and mini-LED. That means it offers OLED-style clarity but with higher brightness levels. Before I changed the default setting mine was so bright in the desert I thought I was going to get sunburned.
When we compared the Samsung QN90B to its predecessor, the QN90, we were incredibly impressed by its picture quality, and, unusually for such a small TV, its sound quality. We said both sets were “among the best TVs available today” – and that’s when the 55-inch model was £1,899. It’s now worth £800 and by my reckoning, about 800 times more attractive as a result.
If you’re looking for OLED quality with extra brightness and without the expense, I’d recommend Samsung’s Neo QLEDs. I can honestly say that mine is the best TV I have ever owned for movies and games. And while I’m more of an Apple Watch person than the Galaxy one, there’s no doubt that the Galaxy Watch paired with this set is one of the best watches out there.
