Samsung is bringing game streaming to its 2021 TVs | Tech Reddy

You no longer need one of Samsung’s latest TVs to try out its game streaming features. The electronics giant is now rolling out cloud gaming to compatible TV sets in 2021. This includes all 2021 models, from the entry-level AU7000 to 8K flagships like the QN900. You can find the full list below this story. You should have access to streaming services by the end of 2022, Samsung says. There’s a caveat: you’ll need the Q70A, AU8000 or certain models of the QN90A (98-inch) and Q60A (32-inch) to get the full Gaming Hub, not the personal app.

You will have easy access to 4K games. Samsung says GeForce will now stream in 4K in 2022 and “select” 2021 TVs in a few weeks. You’ll need a GeForce Now RTX 3080 to get that high resolution, but it might be worth it if you’re looking to use your TV instead of a high-end gaming PC.

The company also hopes that some gaming bonuses will encourage you to buy a new TV. The promo, which runs until the end of the year, will give you both a free Xbox controller and three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate when you buy a QN85B, QN90B, QN95B, QN800B, QN850B, QN900B or S95B. You’ll just get three months of Game Pass free if you buy the Q60B or Q80B. Not only will you buy a set with these add-ons in mind, but they can provide balance if you already have cloud gaming in mind.

The range of services is increasing at the same time, but slowly. Antstream Arcade’s collection of around 1,500 classic games will be available for streaming in 2023, as will Blacknut’s more than 500 family-friendly titles. They probably won’t be as attractive as mainstream services like Game Pass, GeForce Now and Amazon’s Luna. However, they can do the trick if you’re indecisive or looking for some kid-safe alternatives.
