It’s worse.

The golfer with the most followers on Instagram — 3.2 million followers, thank you — is complaining about the number of fake and fraudulent accounts bearing his name. And the hunters are getting rich from the fans of gadfly golf.

Spiranac, who has taken to his podcast, Playing A Round, to lash out at bad actors who ask for his fans’ hard-earned money, says he is the victim of identity theft.

Some fans have been promised a date with the 29-year-old former golfer.

He said: “Are you telling me it’s a fake account? Let’s see! Did the message come from my verified account? If so, it’s me. The message came from an account on in my name no followers, not me, that’s a fake account.

“If this account is asking for money, iTunes or Applebee’s gift cards, or affiliates, it’s not me. If this person insists on talking to you on WhatsApp and Google hangouts, it’s not me.

“If they show you a bad passport, driver’s license or an old picture of my Instagram to prove that it’s me, it’s not me.

“If this person calls you love, honey, beauty, spouse, partner, lover, it’s not me.

“Well, I hope that helps when you visit a fake page, haha, just remember to report and block if it’s not my verified account.”

Meanwhile, Spiranac has opened up – a little – about the new man in his life after his divorce eight months ago. But don’t expect any names.

“I found a guy who does a really good job, and when he’s doing crazy things, he doesn’t have social media. And we’re very different in a lot of ways,” he said, adding the new beauty “good job.”

“It’s part of his identity. That’s what makes him happy.
