New Delhi [India]December 1 (ANI): The stage is set for yet another exciting season of the Pro Tennis League as the fourth edition of the prestigious tournament is set to be held from December 1 to December 4 at the RK Khanna Tennis Stadium here.
A total of 64 top international and Indian players are participating in this year’s league, all of whom will be divided into eight teams – Bangalore Challengers, DMG Delhi Crusaders, Gurgaon Sapphires, Jodhpur Shankara, Lucknow Aviators, Meerut Stag Babolat Warriors, Provery Supersmashers, and Paramount Proc Tigers.
The Pro Tennis League will be played over two legs over four days from 1st December to 4th December. Launching the tournament at a press conference on Thursday, Pro Tennis League co-founder Aditya Khanna said, “This is our biggest season ever with 64 players participating in eight different teams. We have created a unique format, a fast format where eight players play men’s singles. , men’s doubles, women’s singles, mixed doubles and junior singles will play nine matches together. So, it is going to be a points-based format where every point will count.”
He further said, “The way the league stage will run is that the team with the highest number of points after three ties goes to the semi-finals and so the league order starts from the first position to the last position. We also have different age groups, we have all male pro players and top female pro players and some junior players for both boys and girls.”
“We have some former players also participating in the tournament. We have the honor of bringing Zeeshan Ali back to the court after 20 years. So, it’s going to be a great format which is going to be very exciting. A tennis festival where the entire Indian tennis comes together with all aspects of the country. It’s a Healthy league because men and women are playing together and it’s really an honor for me to host this tournament,” concluded Aditya Khanna.
Former Indian tennis star Zeeshan Ali commented, “I think the PTL format is amazing and the league system is becoming a big thing in India which is great for all players. It’s great for the juniors who can come from the top and learn. Professional players from India during the tournament. . I would say it’s like T20 in tennis because you get a lot of matches in three hours. So, it’s an exciting format that’s attracting a lot of top players in the country.”
Top Indian tennis stars Ramkumar Ramanathan and Divij Saran are also among the 24 pro men players participating in the tournament, who will play for the Bengaluru Bulls. Eight pro women players will also compete in the tournament, including tennis star Rhea Bhatia.

Divij Sharan said, “This is the first time I am playing in the league. It is in Delhi and I am here, so I am very excited to play in the PTL. The format is really exciting and it is going to be a lot of fun. Playing in the tournament. I think it is to play the junior players and interact with the senior players. opportunities. We have been playing in the circuit for so many years and have gained a lot of experience. So, the junior players can gain a lot from us in terms of knowledge and we are happy to share our experience with all the players in the tournament.”
“PTL is going to be a fun event and I am really excited to be here to play in the tournament. I am thankful to the organizers for bringing the fourth edition of the tournament and I am excited to play and showcase my tennis to the audience,” commented Ramkumar Ramanathan.
Delhi Lawn Tennis Association (DLTA) president Rohit Rajpal is also happy about the fourth edition of the PTL. “As DLTA, I am really happy that the tournament is having its fourth edition and the draw has almost doubled compared to last time. We have 64 players and I see many familiar Davis Cup players here as well. So, I think overall it is great that PTL is growing with every edition. On going and special thanks to the team owners who continue to support the tournament and help Indian tennis grow in the right direction,” he concluded. (ANI)
