The finalists for the 2022 Earthshot Prize have officially entered the discussion.
This morning, the contestants for the prestigious environmental award program were revealed in a new video posted on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ Instagram account.
In the short clip, Prince William opens his phone and tries to create a small group chat (not quite right) on his phone with all the finalists of the Earthshot prize in it. And the Prince of Wales came up with a name for the team: Earthshot Finalists 2022.
In a random text chain, William shared an encouraging video message and sent it to the chat. “Hello, Earthshot finalist of 2022. Great to have you on board. You’re doing great and I’m really looking forward to Boston.
In July, the king announced that the second awards ceremony for the Earthshot Prize will be held in Boston, Massachusetts, this December. In a special video posted to Wales’ Twitter account, William made the official announcement and shared the location for the honors event.
“In 2022, we’re back to bring Earthshot to the USA and we’ll be awarding the next five winners of the Award,” William said in the clip. In a flash, the video cuts to Red Sox player Xander Bogaerts who says, “And we’re going to do it here in Boston.”
