Iran-Azerbaijan relations

Iran says the diplomatic channel is the best way to resolve the dispute with Azerbaijan. Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian made these comments during a telephone conversation with his Azeri counterpart, Jeyhun Bayramov. He was referring to the recent comments of the President of Azerbaijan regarding Azeri-speaking Iranians. Amir-Abdollahian expressed dissatisfaction with President Elham Aliev’s comments. The Iranian ambassador said that respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of other countries should be a basic principle for any country. For his part, Bayramov described as good talks and communication between Iranian and Azeri officials. He said Baku is ready to boost relations with Tehran in an effort to resolve differences.

Polish missile strike

Poland is raising its military readiness after a projectile landed in one of its eastern villages, killing two people near the border with Ukraine. The Polish government says the explosion may have been caused by a Russian-made missile. He called the Russian ambassador in Warsaw to explain. Regarding the origin of the missile, US President Joe Biden said that the project is unlikely to be fired by Moscow itself. Meanwhile, US media citing US officials ruled out Russian involvement. They say the missile that hit Poland was launched by Ukrainian forces to intercept a Russian missile. The president of Ukraine, however, quickly put the blame on the Kremlin. Volodymyr Zelensky says the bombing was an attempt by Moscow to spread fear.

He has called the investigation politically motivated, and denies any wrongdoing.
