Polygon (MATIC-USD) Price predictions were a hot topic on Thursday thanks to Meta (NASDAQ:META) Instagram reaches out to the blockchain for non-fungible token (NFT) support.
With this platform, users on Instagram can mine and sell NFTs using the MATIC blockchain. The addition of this feature is necessary because Meta, formerly Facebook, has been pushing hard for Web3 functionality.
Stephane Kasriel, Head of Marketing, FinTech & Web3 at Meta, said the following in a Tweet thread.
“These features have one goal: to help producers make a living. The Blockchain has a place in this because it enables new business models for creators that allow them to better manage their work and audience, and how to finance it. But for this technology to increase economic opportunity for producers, it needs to be easier to use. By introducing NFTs on Instagram, we hope to achieve this and facilitate new types of relationships between billions of people and their favorite creators.
