TUCSON, Ariz (KGUN) – Tucson police responded to a threat against Rincon High School that was made via Instagram.

According to a message sent to parents, the threat was made on December 2.

There will be more police presence in the camp.

A similar threat was made at Tucson High School on Tuesday, police said.

A Tucson police spokesperson told KGUN 9 via email that the open investigation is ongoing.

“We have an open investigation going on. We will have police on campus,” the spokesman said. “We take the threat to schools very seriously, and we are working with TUSD to take precautions and ensure the safety of students and staff.”

The school is located at 421 N. Arcadia Ave.

Here is the message the school sent to parents:

Dear Rincon families,

It has come to the attention of the Rincon administration that the threat against the school referring to December 2 was posted on Instagram more than half an hour ago. We have notified the Tucson Police Department that they are at the school at this time. According to police, there was a similar threat at another Tucson high school yesterday. An investigation is underway and the matter is being looked into closely. For added safety, Tucson police and school security will be on our campus.

If you or your child has more information about who made the threat, please report it by replying to this message or emailing the principal at [email protected].
