Which can almost be dubbed as an episode from the TV show dexter, The Delhi Police, over the weekend, arrested a man for murdering his live-in partner and dismembering her body to spread across the city.
The crime came to light in the national capital earlier this year but the arrest came just six months after his family filed a complaint.
Accused Aftab Poonawalla allegedly killed his partner and dismembered her body and dumped it across the city to evade capture.
Poonawalla worked in a private firm in Gurgaon and often got into fights with the deceased, a report said. Indian Express According to the police.
“He told us that they often got into heated arguments because the woman wanted to marry him. In May, they fought over the relationship again and Poonawala strangled her in the heat of the moment,” an officer was quoted as saying.
According to a India Today According to reports, Poonawala bought a fridge to store his remains and would go out at night and throw them away bit by bit.
Police said he kept the body at their house in Mehrauli for a few days.
The two were in a relationship and living together in Delhi after the girl’s family disapproved of their boyfriend’s affair.
After the girl’s father came to Delhi on November 8 to inquire about her, she stopped taking any calls from the family and filed a kidnapping complaint with the police. NDTV Report
