The athlete went to Studio Xo Bar in Sector-29 Market on November 19 midnight to celebrate his birthday with four of his friends including a national level athlete.
Gurugram: In another incident of pub brawl, a national-level athlete and his four friends were injured after three-four bouncers and a manager were beaten up at Studio Xo bar in Gurugram’s Sector-29 Bazaar on Tuesday night, police said on Thursday. An FIR was registered in connection with the incident at Sector-29 police station in Gurugram on Tuesday, police said.
According to the complainant, Mohan Mishra, a resident of DLF Phase-II told the police that he is a fitness professional and runs a gym in DLF Phase-II. He went to Sector-29 market with four of his friends, including a national-level athlete, at Studio Xo bar on November 19 midnight to celebrate his birthday.
“After the celebration, my friends and I were sitting at a table next to a dance floor inside the club and when we started dancing, three-four bouncers Joginder, Anurag, Tushar Gulati and club manager Sahil allegedly beat us with sticks and slapped us. . We were thrown out of the club multiple times,” Mishra told the police.
“Bouncer Joginder allegedly snatched my 4 gram gold chain and punched me multiple times in the face. Then, the bouncers left us on the street and threatened dire consequences and returned to the club,” the complainant told the police. Mishra lodged a complaint in this regard on November 22 and narrated the entire incident to the police.
The Sector-29 police station has registered an FIR against unidentified persons under sections 147, 149, 323 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.
Speaking to news agency IANS, Station House Officer (SHO) of Sector-29 police station Pawan Malik said, “We have registered a case in this regard. We are also verifying the truth of the incident. The accused will be arrested soon.” A representative of the club, however, declined to comment and said they were cooperating with the investigating agency.
