In a move that will delight Hallmark viewers and make Miss Congeniality proud, former Miss Puerto Rico and Miss Argentina tied the knot nearly two years after competing against each other in the Miss pageant. Grand International. Fabiola Valentín and Mariana Varela surprised fans this week, not only confirming their two-year relationship but also announcing that they have tied the knot.
The couple shared the news in an Instagram Reel showing glimpses of their relationship, including beach days and proposal scenes – with “MARRY ME” written on gold balloons and the silver. “After deciding to keep our relationship private, we opened the doors to them on a special day,” they wrote (according to Instagram translation), adding the date of their wedding, October 28 .
The beauty queens are said to have met for the first time at the Miss Grand International 2020 pageant – held in March 2021 – Valera representing Argentina and Valenín representing Puerto Rico. The two women, who are working as students, reached the tenth level. Who knew that true love could be found in a beauty contest between the swimming rounds and the talent stages?
It’s unclear when their relationship began, but the two have been very active on their Instagram accounts over the past year. In April 2021, Valentín shared photos of the couple playing in the sea, calling Varela’s friend “one of the greatest gifts in this experience.” In December, Valera shared a video of their airport meeting, and according to other posts, it seems they spent the holidays together in Puerto Rico.
A day after announcing their engagement, Varela took to Instagram to thank fans for their support, writing in part (via Instagram translation), “We are so happy , it’s a blessing. I want to magnify the love you give us!”
