Meta officially announced ‘Instagram Explore home’ Ad Solutions via the Instagram Marketing API which allows marketers to run ads on the Instagram Explore home page.
Meta announced on October 4, 2022 that businesses can post ads on Instagram Explore home.
The October post explained:
“Businesses can post ads to the Explore home, the grid that people see when they first come to the Explore tab.”
Instagram also announced the introduction of Explore home advertising:
“We’re adding more places for people to find brands and products in Browse and Brand.
Explore home, the grid that people see when they first land on the Explore tab, now displays ads to reach people in the early stages of finding new content that interests them.”

New Instagram Marketing API Pricing Options
On Friday November 11th Meta announced that ads can now be served on the Explore home via the Instagram Marketing API.
The official announcement released this past Friday said:
“We allow ads in Instagram Explore at home through the Instagram Marketing API.
This new ad feature is available on all current Marketing API versions and does not require an update.
According to the information, no updates or changes are required and the existing APIs will work with the new INSTAGRAM_EXPLORE_HOME location option.
The announcement said:
“Using this new addition, you can update your app so that your customers can create and preview ads in the Instagram Explore home via the API.”
This new feature has three new capabilities:
- Advertising creation
- Reading views
- Preview ads
The new INSTAGRAM_EXPLORE_HOME installation option can be used to create ads.
Instagram Explore home ad performance data is available in Placement level views.
Ads can be previewed.
Meta said that the developer documentation necessary for using the new features will be released soon.
