Authorities on Tuesday sealed three illegally constructed farmhouses, including one belonging to Punjabi singer Dal Mehndi, located near Damdama lake in Sohna, a senior official of the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) said.

“These were unauthorized farmhouses in the catchment area of ​​the lake. All three farmhouses have been sealed. They were built in the Aravalli range without any permission,” said district town planner (DTP) Amit Madholia.

A demolition-cum-sealing operation with the help of police force was conducted against the three farmhouses in pursuance of the NGT order in Sonia Ghosh v. State of Haryana.

A team led by DTP Madholia along with ATP Sumit Malik, Dinesh Singh, Rohan and Shubham conducted the sealing operation in the presence of Duty Magistrate Lachiram, Naib Tehsildar, Sohna.

A police team was deployed there under the leadership of Sadar Sohna Station House Officer (SHO).

A senior official of the department confirmed on condition of anonymity that one of the singers in the three farmhouses is Daler Mehndi. He also said that his farmhouse was built on about one and a half acres of land.
