MediaTek Introduces Pentonic 1000 Chipset for TVs with 4K 120HZ Support | Tech Reddy

MediaTek, a fabless semiconductor company known as an impressive processor has announced the release of a smart TV system-on-chip (SoC) for 4K TVs that improves the refresh rate and picture quality.

The Pentonic 1000, specially designed for 4K 120Hz displays has support for Wi-Fi 6/6E, smooth video MEMC, powerful AI processor, Dolby Vision IQ with accurate details, and 8-screen View Intelligent . In addition, the chipset provides cross-platform support for the latest video codecs and global TV broadcast standards.

“We have specially designed the MediaTek Pentonic 1000 for smart TV trends, including 4K streaming, cloud gaming, video conferencing, and viewing groups. The Pentonic 1000 will provide the best way to watch 4K thanks to its support for 4K HDR content, 120Hz frame rates, MEMC, AI optimization, Wi-Fi 6/6E connectivity, and cutting-edge codecs such as VVC,” said Alex Chen, General Manager of the TV Business Unit. of MediaTek.

For those interested in gaming, the chipset supports resolutions up to 4K at 120Hz and is capable of VRR up to 4K at 144Hz. It supports incredibly high frame rates for more fluid gameplay and has an Auto Low Latency Mode for lag-free play (ALLM).

Accurate detail, which joins Dolby’s suite of Advanced Imaging technologies available through Dolby Vision IQ, brings out the most in Dolby Vision content by revealing incredible detail in bright and dark areas.
