Malaysian singer Gary Chaw, who lives in Taiwan, announced his divorce from Taiwanese fashion blogger Wu Shu-ling on Instagram last Saturday.
The former couple, both 43, married 14 years ago, but have reportedly been embroiled in a cold war in recent months. They have a 14-year-old son and a 12-year-old daughter.
Chaw and Wu also spoke on their Instagram stories, saying: “During our travels together, we have many beautiful memories. In the second half of our marriage, we often did not understand each other. and the other, which leads the spiritual quest”.
“No one is right or wrong,” he continued. “We worked hard in this marriage, and the 14 years of life together are irreplaceable.”
They also emphasized that they have a common goal to ensure that their children are well taken care of and that they want to have a good separation.
Chaw touched on her marital problems in October at a press conference for her concert in Malaysia, and shared her love for Wu on social media.
In a Facebook post on October 30, he wrote: “Help, love. I love Shu-ling, but she is hurt by love. What should we do? Leave? I will leave? Then or leave him? He can choose to leave, but I love him very much.
Later that day, he posted on Instagram a photo kissing his wife, writing: “I’m leaving not because I don’t love you. I’m leaving because because I love you so much.” – The Straits Times/Asia News Network
