Chandigarh: From Men, Muscle and Wine NCR Districts in Haryana have emerged as a major concern for the Delhi Police and the MHA in the run-up to the Delhi MC elections.
The involvement of criminals from Haryana, especially from the NCR district, in heinous crimes has raised the alarm of the Delhi Police. All this became clear during a meeting of policemen of NCR held at Civil Lines in New Delhi on Tuesday afternoon. Rohtak range in-charge ADGP Mamata Singh led a team of officers and NGOs from Haryana’s NCR district. including SPs of Sonipat, Jhajjar, Mewat and DCPs of Gurgaon and Faridabad. DSPSHO and supervisory level officers participated in the meeting. Based on information gleaned from confidential sources in the meeting, a major concern was musclemen from Akhara in Jhajjar, Rohtak and Sonipat, linked to criminals with roots in Haryana.
β€œIt was an inter-state meeting where we exchanged information to ensure that law and order is maintained. We have planned a joint operation,” said ADGP Mamata. However, he declined to divulge more information. Districts sharing borders with New Delhi include, Rohtak, Jhajjar, Sonipat, Gurugram, Faridabad and Mewat. Palwal, Rewari, Panipat and Mahendragarh are other districts which are part of NCR.
The police of New Delhi and Haryana not only shared information about some of the Ashankar dossiers, but also prepared the roadmap for joint operations during and after the MCD polls. β€œA module of the shooters as well as those involved in the conspiracy to kill Moose Walla were from Haryana. Similarly, four of the six people involved in the killing of Dera followers were from Haryana,” a source said.
