Eleven youths from Thoothukudi have been criticized on social media after they danced to the popular song ‘Themma Themma Themmadikatte’ in public. The song sparked Instagram feeds as part of a trend where a group of people perform dance moves together. The video showed the group of youngsters getting into the situation around the selfie stand in Thoothukudi and near the fountain.

The youths were arrested by the police who tracked them using their Internet address. They were released to their parents after being warned, Tamil News18 reported. The youths, for example, were warned by the police not to post these videos in the future. When they were attacked by the police, the youths stopped and promised not to make those video tapes again. A video of their apology is doing rounds on social media.

Twitter users criticized the group’s actions. “This is just sick. What the hell is happening? India has so much potential. I hope India’s future is not wasted,” wrote one upset user.
