Instagram is experimenting with another new feature that allows users to post hidden content. The feature, called Notes, allows users to send quick notes, such as announcements, to their “Close Friends” circle or fans who follow them. Unlike Twitter’s new Notes feature, where writers can post long-form posts, Instagram’s feature is similar to sticky notes that disappear within 24 hours.

The condition was first discovered by the merchant Ahmed Ghanem, who posted screenshots on Twitter saying that Instagram Posts will appear on the app’s direct message screen in a new row above messages. From here, you can click the add button to leave a new note for others to view.
