It’s Texas Chili Season In North Texas, according to Texans, we all know it’s not Chili Season until those who were born with Chili say it’s Chili Season.

Matt Pittman from Meat Church gave a great message to his followers on Friday night it’s chilly season across North Texas after temperatures drop and some areas see snow.

Check the weather in Dallas today. Folks, it’s official cheese season. Matt gets this right.

Here in NW Ohio, it went from 75 and very nice on Thursday to expect snow flurries and a high of 40 today. Last night, my wife and I had a conversation. Cheese season is here too. We planned a shopping run to get our supplies and wanted to hit our first cheese week of the season.

Don’t get mad today if you’re on Facebook and someone shows off their cheese with beans in it. Last time I checked, there are more issues going on in this country than another cheese war like the one that happened on Screencaps like a couple of months ago.

Stay calm. Remember that people have different tastes. Enjoy football with your own style of cheese.

I had to laugh this week at people asking themselves ‘What now?’ if/when Twitter dies while Facebook dies at the same time

This week, Elon Musk dropped the surprise “bankruptcy” during a conference call with Twitter employees while Facebook/Meta went back to the drawing board on how to right the ship as a media company. Social media has exploded and announced plans to lay off 11,000 employees.

Earlier this year, Facebook reported that it had lost daily users for the first time in the company’s history, and then there were reports that profits were down in Q3. TikTok and the Chinese have been busy kicking Facebook’s ass while the old people have been dreaming of the old days. Well, Facebook has turned into Cracker Barrel. It’s a nice place to hang out for a while, but it’s a bit old fashioned and not the kind of place where a party breaks out.

And the algorithm is a pain in the ass.

It leads to people looking for a different way. OutKick is exploding. Smart Windows is growing like crazy. We’re cutting through the nonsense and creating a fun daily schedule of sports, pop culture, and politics, and you’re eating it.

Don’t take my word for it. The industry is openly talking about transitioning from these social media apps.

“We’ve got to start thinking about a better way of doing things… developing platforms that don’t have some kind of takeover business model that relies on us being there every second of the day, if we’re going to … touch on dopamine for everything,” Jordan Guiao, researcher at the Australian Institute of Cognitive Technology, told The Guardian this week.

It’s music to my ears.

TMNL Authorized Representative

• Steve N. in Lindale, TX writes:

I think we may have found the most famous speaker for TNML. You may already know:

Keep up the great work.

Yeah, Steve, I saw that headline from David Hookstead of OutKick and I’m dying to see anything with Jim Harbaugh. The Michigan football coach told the B1G media group that his extra work plan has included “groundbreaking.”

This should not be surprising.

Harbaugh was born and raised in the Midwest. In fact, he was born in Toledo and lived here in the hometown of the Thursday Night Mowing League, Perrysburg, OH, until his father, Jack Harbaugh, retired from coaching. Perrysburg football.

Cutting is in his blood.

I can’t stand Jim Harbaugh and wish he had the balls to play at Ohio State in 2020, but I don’t hate his career plan. It’s an honor.

Veterans Day Photos

• John writes in SD:

Welcome (delayed) back; The bourbon bar/hotel looks amazing. Thank you for the Soldier’s version.

A young retiree / 50 years old; It’s amazing to see WWII veterans in Screencaps. Playing a harmonica with a flag in the background is all that’s missing from 50%(+?) of America.

I don’t think there are enough of us (less than 1% of the US population working today) to keep up this momentum, we need to find a way to keep it going, and Screencaps is the start. Have a great weekend.

It’s a Saturday morning in Spain

• The Ts have an original Saturday in Spain as they continue their winter break. Today, Mike and Cindy hit the mercado for lunch. It looks like they have fish.

Important facts about beer

Screencaps’ own Bill L. in Nebraska saw one of his brewers step up and add it to the tap list at Code Beer Company in Lincoln.

“I was fortunate to have my father-in-law in my life for 16 years,” Bill told Code Beer Company. “Roger still tries the beers I make but prefers a malty beer over an IPA. This ESB is one of my favorites to work with and he and I have enjoyed many a pint when he comes down to visit. Most of those times are after doing a home project like building a pergola or drilling a dryer vent. There are too many memories from those times to list them all.

“His time on earth was sadly cut short when he suffered a sudden heart attack last January more than a year after his wife succumbed to COVID. This picture was taken two weeks ago before he died we went down to spend Christmas with him in Texas. During that trip he said how he wanted us to get together there this year. I’m a better person for knowing and thank him.

World class furniture

Here’s something to think about this morning.

And with that, I had to run. The clouds are outside. There is a chill in the air. There are hundreds of rakes and beer garages to drink after work here. It’s not the best college football schedule, but as we all know, these are the weeks when the craziness happens.

Get those jobs done as soon as possible and sit down with those bowls of cheese. Enjoy yourself today.
