Instagram is changing its in-app delivery schedule, allowing users to choose to plan their posts in advance without using Meta’s Creator Studio or third-party services. The Meta-video sharing program gives businesses and creators the ability to organize Videos, photos and carousels for up to 75 days within the app itself. Instagram tested the feature in the last few weeks, a small percentage of its global community to access the tool, before this general release (but still small).
To access the feature, authorized users must go to “Advanced Settings” after creating their post but before sharing it with their followers. From there, they can toggle on “Schedule this post” and select the time and date they want to go live. Then they go back to the column they created and click “Plan.” According to TechCrunch, talked about the test, the scheduled posts can be found in the “Scheduled Content” section and can be accessed through the hamburger menu. It might be easier to do, but the feature eliminates the need to use a separate Creator Studio website or app for a seamless experience.
Whether or not the feature will be available for regular users remains to be seen – Instagram has yet to comment on the full version. In the same post announcing its in-app lineup, though, Instagram has launched Achievements. Creators can unlock them by doing special things, like collaborating with another creator and creating interactive Reels with polls and quizzes.
