The 2022 FIFA World Cup is upon us, and although Chicago has many bars that will be showing the games, there is nothing wrong with a new entry to refresh the stadium.

The Passport Bar Room, a new bar with 17 TVs, recently debuted in West Town at the corner of Ashland and Grand. The multi-story space also houses a speakeasy, Bootleg, for patrons looking to unwind after an intense day of watching the game.

Beyond the World Cup, which ends on December 18, Passport aims to be a friendly destination for fans of football, basketball, soccer and hockey. They will show you the Formula 1 races.

The owners, who run Azul Mariscos, brought in chef Marissa Tuñon to create a menu with many influences from around the world. Menu items include chicharron, panzerotti, and drunken noodles. Tuñon worked for José Andrés’ ThinkFoodGroup in DC and for his new Chicago restaurants along the river.
