If you’ve ever wondered how to turn off Multi View automatically on a Samsung TV, you may have found yourself annoyed at the shiny new Neo QLED TV you picked up in the Black Friday sales. I was there too, my friend.
Look, while Samsung makes some of the best TVs around, they’re not flawless, and like any other tech product they have quirks and features that can be very frustrating. Automatic Multi View is one of those.
Multi View, Samsung’s split screen feature that allows two things to play at the same time, is not a problem in itself. In fact, it can be very useful, especially on a large TV, allowing you to stream a movie with your family while watching football scores. The problem, however, is that your Samsung TV will come with it Autorun The Multi-View function is automatically enabled. What this means is that every time you look at your phone’s screen or cast something on your TV, Multi View is automatically activated, whether you want it to happen or not.
Then you’ll find yourself with two screens playing at the same time when you only wanted one, leaving you fumbling around trying to switch screens and turn off the correct one (which, in my experience is a problem – Samsung TV OS isn’t quite right). It’s very annoying when it happens all the time, especially if like me you always throw your TV. Thankfully, it’s easy to delete, and this guide is here to show you how.
Note: TThe screenshots and process described below are for the Samsung B model, 2022 onwards. We’ve detailed the steps for previous TVs, including the Samsung R to A models, at the bottom of the page. The process is very similar!
How to turn off Multi View automatically on Samsung TV
1. Click the Settings button on your TV remote. After that look at General & Private.
Alternatively, to access settings from the home screen, press the left d-pad button on your remote to open the side panel, then click down d-pad button to access the Menu. From there, select Settingsas for select General & Private.
2. Look down and select Start Screen Options.
3. Turn Autorun Multi View Mirroring off (hence the gray circle on the side) — this ensures that Multi View doesn’t run automatically when you mirror or AirPlay your phone’s screen to the TV. Turn Autorun Multi View Casting off — this ensures that Multi View does not run automatically when you stream, for example, YouTube videos on your TV.
Your settings should look similar to the screenshot below.
Problem solved. You can still run Multi View if you like. Simply press the Home button and then select Multi View from the home screen. This disables it automatically, so you have control!
How to turn off Multi View automatically on Samsung R to TV (up to and including 2021 models)
The system of older Samsung models is very similar. Go to settingsas for select General. From there, select Smart features and select Autorun Multi View.
