Rinehart, the executive chairman of mining and agriculture company Hancock Prospecting, has been a broad supporter of Trump since 2016, when he was elected president.
In a speech at a mining conference in Mount Isa in November 2016, he said he had met with members of Trump’s campaign team including Rudy Giuliani and campaign manager Kellyanne Conway.

He said that Trump and his party won the 2016 election despite “non-stop hate speech”, because “they listened to the American people” who wanted “a little more government tape, secondly lower taxes, and the USA to grow and the economy. strong again”.
Rinehart urged Australia to follow Trump’s lead on his plan to cut the “federal red tape” by 50% in his first months in office, as well as cut corporate tax to 15%.
Rinehart, who is considered Australia’s richest person and one of the world’s richest women, also attended a 2019 state dinner hosted by Trump at the White House for the former prime minister Australian Scott Morrison.
Also seen in the photo posted by Eric Trump, standing behind Rinehart, is Mike Lindell, the founder of MyPillow, an alleged whistleblower who has been an outspoken supporter of Trump.
