The German daily Bild has criticized the banning of Instagram content criticizing the Iranian regime by a company based in Germany.
In a report titled, “Are German Instagram employees helping the mullahs?”, Bild investigated the removal of critical posts by Iranian users on Instagram, saying that German employees helping the program to do the prevention.
Bild reported that “some Farsi-language moderators on Instagram say that it is a good idea for the government and to clarify the rules of the Instagram community against Iran’s opposition to prevent posts that criticize the the government.”

Some BBC sources said Administrative support staff of the German branch of Telus International, a Canadian contractor that provides content moderation to Instagram, are responsible for blocking Iranian users’ government communications.
A day later, three human rights groups Meta, the owner of Instagram and Facebook, was called to review his Farsi language communication methods for Iran.
Bild reported that Golsa Golestaneh and Maryam Namazi, two Iranian activists, and an Iran International reporter, Maryam Moqaddam, said the daily had their posts deleted by Instagram.
A spokesperson for Instagram’s parent company Meta told Bild, “Our team is following the situation very closely. They will remove content that violates our rules and fix bugs and content that was accidentally removed from the when possible.
However, Bild asked the owners of Instagram how one can focus on the crimes of the Iranian government when it is said that the scenes of violence by the police and the demonstrators are called to overthrowing the government is a manifestation of violence.
