A 25-year-old man stabbed his father, mother, sister and grandmother to death following an altercation in southwest Delhi’s Palam area, police said on Wednesday. The name of the accused is known to be Keshav. A senior police officer said that the police received information about a fight on the upper floor of a house around 10:30 pm on Tuesday. After reaching the spot, the police found four members of a family dead in their house, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-West) Manoj C. The caller and his relatives caught the accused and handed him over to the police, he said.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Keshav did not have a permanent job. He worked in a company in Gurgaon and left the job a month ago, police said. Initially it seems that the accused killed his family over an argument. A case under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at Palam police station and further investigation is underway, police said.
