Eaton Introduces New TVS X3100 New Charger | Tech Reddy

Intelligent power management company Eaton recently announced the Twin Vortices Series (TVS) X3100 supercharger for aftermarket applications. Although the X3100 features a new design based on both the R-Series and V-Series rotors, the X-Series was clearly developed for aftermarket customers whose primary goal is high airflow performance at high supercharger speeds.

Eaton TVS X3100 Supercharger: Specifications

The IX-series rotor is a three-lobe, highly spiral design that delivers 30% more air than the R2650 at comparable pulley speeds while maintaining the same design footprint within the engine compartment. The product is on display as part of a new Magnuson supercharger kit installed on a 1957 Chevrolet at Eaton’s booth (22743) at the 2022 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. It’s also worth noting that Eaton owns Magnuson Superchargers, and we can expect this supercharger to be available as such, as well.

The X3100 was developed in response to customer demand for greater airflow from a similarly sized engine package. As a result, Eaton’s TVS supercharger aftermarket partners can now provide even better performance to their customers with only minor modifications to their existing housings to fit under the hood and faster time to market. Compared to the R2650, the new X-Series design offers the following:

17% larger displacement (3100cc vs. 2650cc)
Over 30% more airflow at 18,000 RPM and 14 psi boost (2.0 PR)
About 11% more volumetrically effective

Aftermarket superchargers with Eaton TVS Technology are available exclusively from their Supercharger partners, including Magnuson Products, Harrop Engineering, Edelbrock, Roush Performance, and Superchargers Online. You can contact them for specific application information about the X3100. The fact that Eaton has confirmed that the new supercharger maintains the same basic design as the R2650 means that we don’t have to wait long until their partners start releasing supercharger devices with this product. Unfortunately, until that happens, we won’t know what the price of these chargers will be.
