Gurugram: Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) recommended the deregistration of all sale and lease agreements of the two developers’ projects because they failed to pay for structural audits of their housing associations in the city.
District Town Planner Amit Madholia Has written a letter to the District Commissioner Nishant Yadav That Raheja Developers and Fast infrastructure Failed to submit audit amount despite repeated reminders.
In the first week of August this year, the district administration finalized a panel of four agencies to conduct structural audits of 16 housing societies where residents have complained of serious defects in construction quality.
The agencies will have to pay Rs 1.75 per square feet and the cost of the audit will be borne by the developers. The developers were directed to deposit the money in an escrow account of the district administration in the second week of September. Madholia Said reminders were sent to developers on September 24 and October 6 to deposit money for audit. The DC also called a meeting on October 28 when the developers were given 7 days to clear the dues.
However, as per the November 11 account statement, no payment was made by the two developers, Madholia said in the letter. 16 projects of Raheja Developers and a Brisk Infrastructure will be affected if the execution of the lease agreement is stopped.
Briscoe could not be reached for a comment, a Raheja spokesperson said, “We requested the department to include our projects in the structural audit process as we did not design or build them. The department has been requested to address the issue to the agencies that have actually constructed and supervised these projects. However, we will abide by the DTCP order if our plea is not considered.”
