Hyderabad: Instagram recently launched the popular photo sharing app ‘Notes’, a feature that allows users to send messages according to their content.

Despite the high demand for this new feature, reception has been slow with users criticizing the feature. Many people who found Notes annoying asked what the use of the special feature was, given the previous information.
If you are one of them, here are the ways you can do it. While there is no option to remove the entire Notes section, you can mute Notes from specific people on your Instagram account. Here’s how:
- Go to the Instagram app on your mobile phone and tap the Messages icon in the upper right corner
- Find the user’s note you want to mute
- Long press on that note and a menu tab will appear on your screen
- From the options, select ‘Mute notes’
- In the next dialog box, confirm the operation
If you can’t find the note of the user you want to mute, you can simply go to their profile and mute them from there.
- Go to the user profile you want to mute
- Click the next box, next to the Message button
- Of the given options, click on ‘Silent’
- Toggle the gray switch next to the ‘Notes’ button
