Delhi NCR 97% vote to close Delhi schools due to poor AQI level

In a survey conducted by Times Now, nearly 97 percent of respondents voted to close schools in Delhi due to rising pollution levels.
Rising pollution levels put the health of students at risk, especially those with respiratory problems like asthma. Netizens also took to Twitter to demand the closure of schools. “Poor air quality in Delhi and NCR. During high hours, schools should be closed in NCR region and online classes may be conducted for next 10-15 days. One should not walk or run during this period!”, said one user on Twitter.
While classes for senior students in classes 9 to 12 may continue, the district government has called for shifting to online classes for senior students as well.
AQI level reaches fatal level in Delhi NCR. Near the Delhi University area, the AQI level was recorded at 563. Faridabad, Haryana also crossed the 470 mark. The AQI level in Delhi currently stands at 437.
