Concern Over Chitungwiza Municipality Corruption, Nyatsime Land Scandal
Chitungwiza Residents and Rate Payers Association (CHIRRA) is concerned by the deception of hundreds of people looking for houses from the Chitungwiza municipality.
Residents paid for stands more than a decade ago with some paying in installments in anticipation of being allocated their stands in the Nyatsime area, so far nothing has been done leaving them stuck as city officials still come with endless excuses.
The high levels of corruption in the city has reached another level no one comes forward to tell that the stands are from the council or local government.
We have seen council officials handing out land to barons at the expense of paid landowners.
CHIRRA requests an urgent and progressive assignment of the land to its rightful owners. The ministry and the officials of the central government must take up this matter with the urgency it deserves.
