That being said, there can be some linguistic madness when there are drivers from different nationalities competing in F1. Recently, Daniel Ricciardo took to Instagram to take a funny swipe at Carlos Sainz for this reason!

Ricciardo took to his social media page to share some pictures and videos from the Mexican Grand Prix. However, in the comments shared by Ricciardo, there were moments that left F1 fans in stitches.

During Free Practice, Sainz’s engineer came over the radio to tell him that De Vries was behind. But the Spanish hear ‘De Vries’ as ‘Debris’! Riccardo gave the following statement, “De Vries is behind on the field.” Sainz replied, “What? The trash?”

Now that we are about to close the door on the 2022 F1 season, Ricciardo is no longer in the seat. That being said, the situation the Honey Badger is seeing is very common according to Spaniard, Carlos Sainz.

Speaking to Motorsport.com, he said, “I think all the drivers know, we will judge what we achieved in the last race.” He continued, “Usually we evaluate the last season, that’s why Daniel is in trouble today. There is no sport that is remembered for a long time, I don’t think it can be changed in this way.
