Back in July, I went on a weekend trip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania as I met actress Misty Rowe after attending her wonderful performance that looked back on Patsy Cline’s musical career. Upon my return to the Berkshires, I was shocked to learn that my close and dear friend in TV news, Heather Kovar was. NO anchors the Saturday and Sunday morning newscasts on WRGB-TV (channel 6). He left the CBS affiliate as soon as his contract expired at the end of the month, so a huge vacancy was left. “The Capital Region’s Lois Lane” it wasn’t part of my weekend routine.
Granted, I will NO go into details about this incident about why he left, but I will tell you that Heather is It’s true professionalism in his art as his ability to stop 2 hours of news was unmatched and when he was out in the field, it was about getting a scoop before anyone else and causing success in getting information from viewers in the area of ” old school journalism.
Heather’s fan base was in full swing as Facebook friends (myself included) joined the fan club with archived moments. “Lois Lane” anchor desk and demonstrated his reporting knowledge that was proudly displayed locally for a decade at CBS6 and neighboring WTEN-TV (News10). Last I heard, he moved to his hometown in New York City, although I’m not sure if he’s back on TV, but I know one thing for sure: Wherever he lives, they’ll be lucky to have him on their staff. I have been in contact with her briefly on Facebook via inbox and various posts as Heather is welcome to make a return appearance in one of my upcoming “Let’s Talk” segments. Our listeners can enjoy hearing his voice again. Heather’s fan base in the Berkshires and upstate New York is strong and no one else can replicate her dynamic camera presence on TV news.
Hopefully, we’ll hear from her soon as Heather can update us on her new adventure in the Big Apple (She’s familiar with the field having worked at various stations in the New York Metro area). We will keep you informed. You will ALWAYS be TV’s Lois Lane in my books!
