RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Sunday seized 2,210 kg of narcotics, 500 intoxicating pills and 50 capsules filled with heroin, besides nabbing two accused in four anti-narcotics operations across the country.
According to ANF head office official, in an operation at Islamabad International Airport, ANF recovered 50 capsules filled with heroin from a passenger named Mandi Bahauddin who was traveling to Jeddah on flight PA-270.
In another operation, ANF seized 500 intoxicating pills from a parcel bound for London at the International Post Office.
In the third operation, ANF recovered 69.6 kg of charra and 20.4 kg of opium from the hidden compartments of a vehicle seized near Sheikhupura Toll Plaza and arrested the accused, a resident of Peshawar.
According to the information secretary, in a joint operation of ANF and FC Balochistan, 1900 kg of opium and 220 kg of chara were found in Nok Kundi Sehan area of Balochistan.
Separate cases have been registered at ANF police stations under the CNS Act, 1997 and further investigations are underway.
