Amazon has reshuffled leadership roles at MGM Television’s scripted division amid the studio’s ongoing restructuring, 10 months after the tech giant closed its $8.5 billion acquisition.

Under the new organizational chart, which was announced by the manager of Amazon TV Vernon Sanders to the employees in a memo on Tuesday, Rola Bauer, who was the president of international TV of MGM, will be the head of pan-English scripted SVOD TV, development and series. Meanwhile, Lindsay Sloane, former president of MGM’s scripted television will lead US scripted television at MGM.

In addition, Orion Television, a banner recently revived two years ago by MGM, will be folded into the studio and its CEO, Bradley Gardner, will step down from his role. He is currently in negotiations for a production deal with MGM TV.

News of the restructuring comes one day after Mark Burnett, chairman of MGM’s Worldwide Television Group, left the company.

group,

In addition to my article on November 7thth, I am pleased to be able to announce the two teams that will be part of the US / Global TV Creative Development organization where we will cultivate five unique pipelines of original content. Following the closing of the MGM deal earlier this year, we are fortunate to welcome two well-established leaders to the fold to support and expand our slate of original television shows for our global audience.

Rola Bauer, former President of International TV for MGM, will expand her responsibilities as our new Head of Pan-English Scripted SVOD TV, Development & Series. In this new role, he will oversee the development and production of a new slate of English-language original videos. Rola brings a wealth of experience in print series to international markets around the world and we are excited for him to bring original content to our global, multi-national customers. In our core, we all know that great content can come from anywhere and that’s why we will continue to work with talent to produce more English-language shows outside of the US. Rola’s new remit will be diverse with a wide range of Homeland and Movie content developed on the ground. part of James Farrell.

Lindsay Sloane, former Sr. EVP of MGM Scripted TV, will join our team to lead US scripted TV at MGM. He is responsible for developing and marketing new projects on behalf of MGM and oversees the development and production of the popular series, The Handmaid’s Tale. In addition, the team he oversees developed and produced popular series such as Fargo, Vikings: Vahalla, and the recently launched comedy Wednesday, which is already at the top of the charts on Netflix. As the new Head of MGM US Scripted TV, Lindsay and her team will develop projects for Amazon Studios, as well as continue to take on projects in foreign markets.

As part of this restructuring, MGM US Scripted TV will take over the scope and projects of Orion Television. We are in talks with Bradley Gardner to join us in a production deal at MGM TV. I would like to thank the Orion TV team for their work and dedication over the past year.

Combining the storied history of the MGM brand with the work we’ve just begun at Amazon Studios, we will produce an abundance of the highest quality storytelling for our growing global audience. Lindsay and Rola will report to me along with Lauren Anderson, Laura Lancaster, and Nick Pepper to complete our US/Global TV Operations team. We look forward to continuing to work with the best creatives and talent in the industry around the world to enjoy our ever-growing customer base.

Please join me in welcoming Lindsay, Rola and their teams to our Amazon Studios TV Family.

Vernon
