Shalini and Ajith are one of the most popular star couples in the southern film industry. The couple met on the sets of Saran’s action film ‘Amarkalam. Soon after, the two began dating. According to reports, Ajith proposed to the actress in June 1999 just before the release of their first film.
After talking to both families, the stars tied the knot on April 24, 2000, in Chennai. After his marriage, two films ended and the actor resigned from the industry. Ajith and Shalini have a daughter and a son.
Shalini’s sister Shamleel, who is also a popular child artist and Instagrammer, often shares posts from her travels and moments with her sister.
On the work front, Ajith was last seen in H Vinoth’s action film ‘Valimai’. The action film made on Rs 150 cr earned around Rs 230 cr at the box office. The star will next be seen in ‘Thunivu’ directed by H Vinoth. The film also stars Malayalam actress Manju Warrier.
