Earlier, CEC-CICI JV constructed 2.35 km of Package UG-1B for Jaipur Metro Phase 1 project between Chandpol and Badi Chowpar stations using its 6.52 m Earth Pressure Balance TBM. Final progress of the project was made in July 2017.

The equipment was later shifted to Robbins Yard in Sector 74, Gurgaon, where a thorough refurbishment was carried out.

Afcons Infrastructure- Sam India Jv used one machine and another refurbished TBM to construct a 14.25 km Line-1 7.93 km RBS College Ramp – Taj Mahal Ramp section at Agra.

Contract for this part, Rs. 1819.79 crore, was awarded by the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) to the Afcons-SAM consortium in March 2022, with a completion period of 48 months.

The twin tunnels connect seven stations, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Jama Masjid, SN Medical College, Agra College, Raja Ki Mandi and RBS College as part of their chainage from 3630.000 to 11564.485.
