RACINE, Wis. — The Racine County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 26-year-old Racine man during a drug bust Thursday and seized thousands of fentanyl pills worth more than $30,000.
According to the Racine County Sheriff’s Office, Caleb Weaver, also known as Band Gang Weaver, sold fentanyl-laced pills and marijuana. The sheriff’s office said he has a criminal history as a drug dealer and is a convicted felon.
Agents with the Racine County Metro Drug Unit discovered the drug was being sold at a home in the 1100 block of Market Street and a home in the 4000 block of 17th St. in Racine. Agents also found drugs and weapons in the homes.
During the search of each home, agents will:
- 3,622 counterfeit oxycodone tablets coated with fentanyl (16 oz of fentanyl)
- 2.4 pounds of marijuana
- 9mm semi-automatic pistol
- .45 cal semi-automatic pistol
- Ammunition
- $15,200
- Digital scale
- Packaging materials
- Cell phone
The sheriff’s office said Weaver sold fentanyl pills for $8 to $12 a pill. The value of the taken pills was between 30,000 and 40,000 dollars, and the value of the seized marijuana was 5,000 dollars.
Weaver was arrested and transported to the Racine County Jail. He is being held on $75,000 cash bail for the following charges:
- Possession with intent to deliver <50g of Fentanyl while armed as a repeat drug offender
- Delivery of Fentanyl – Count Three, as a Repeat Drug Offender
- Possession of THC with intent to deliver 1,000-2,500g, while armed as a repeat drug offender
- Possession of narcotics – two counts, and armed as a repeat narcotics offender
- Possession of a Firearm by a Felon – Two Counts
- Drug possession
More than 107,000 Americans will die of drug overdoses in 2021, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Fentanyl overdose is the leading cause of death in Americans ages 18 to 45.
