A driver stole a parcel worth Rs 96 lakh from a courier warehouse in Gurugram

A total of 478 boxes were picked by the vehicle but 1 box was found missing during checking

Gurugram:

A man who worked as a driver for a transport company allegedly stole a parcel worth Rs 96 lakh from the warehouse of DTDC Courier Company at Jhund Sarai village in Gurugram, police said on Thursday.

An FIR has been registered at Farrukhnagar police station.

In a complaint, Desk to Desk Courier and Cargo (DTDC) Jhund Sarai warehouse assistant general manager Aman Tyagi alleged that a driver of Yadav Golden Transport Company stole the parcels.

On September 29 and 30, fourteen different consignments were picked up from the company’s warehouse on behalf of Sandeep Yadav, owner of the transport company, he said.

“A total of 478 boxes were picked by the vehicle but 1 box was found missing during checking. The total value of the stolen parcels is Rs 96,29,393,” Tyagi added.

An FIR was registered against the unknown driver under Section 407 (criminal breach of trust by a servant) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Farukhnagar police station on Wednesday.

Investigating officer ASI Manjit Singh said, “We have sought records from the company and are also examining the CCTV footage. The accused will be arrested soon.”
