AN AMAZON customer has been left fuming after she ordered a £329 tablet and received two packets of biscuits and sugar instead.

Rebecca Assad ordered a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite from an online retailer last month, but couldn’t believe her eyes when the package arrived last week.

A 36-year-old woman from Leeds, West Yorkshire, said she opened the carton to find Oreos, a packet of Maryland Cookies and a 500g bag of granulated sugar.

The pictures show the package being opened with the food, priced at around £3, sticking out the top.

Rebecca complained to Amazon about the incident, but claimed she was told to return the tablet, even though it never came.

Speaking today, dog breeder Rebecca said: “I was shocked when I saw the parcel. I think my mouth dropped open and I immediately panicked thinking ‘OMG’.

“I immediately sent a picture of it to my husband, angry emojis. He knew I was waiting for my little girl.

“I sent the package back the next day and it was a full two weeks before he got the email. I emailed them explaining everything but they responded with the same automated response.

“I just remember when I clicked on ‘incorrect item received’ on the Amazon website after receiving the package, there was no other option.

“They said that they will return the money when they receive the tablet. Then a week later I asked again via Messenger and they said “don’t worry, it’ll be fine”. The next thing we did was get an email saying we had to send the tablet back to get a refund.

Rebecca posted on social media yesterday about the incident: “Just wanted to share that I ordered a tablet from Amazon and it was replaced with these. I returned it the next day because it was “delivered incorrectly” and they are now doing ov [sic] stole it.

“Feel that it will be difficult. Apparently this is very common, so don’t order expensive items from Amazon.”

The post received more than 1,300 likes and 900 comments, with many social media users expressing their dismay at the mix-up.

A man said: “Wow! Are these replacement items coming directly from Amazon because other sellers are there now, similar to eBay.

“I’ve been using Amazon for over 20 years and have never had an issue except for one random item that arrived that I didn’t order – it was a ‘fire collection point’ sign that I don’t understand at all.”

Another wrote: “This is silly, but if you’re ordering from Amazon, buy from Amazon and don’t be tempted by the low price.”

The third said: “How terrible. Life is hard enough for everyone right now. I hope you can sort it out.’

A fourth added: “Another reason to try smaller shops where possible. This is absolutely amazing.

“I really hope you get a refund or a replacement. It’s absolutely disgusting!’

Amazon has been contacted for comment.
