Nokia has introduced several budget smartphones since its return to the Indian market, but the company is now focusing on introducing budget tablets as well.
Nokia’s latest offering is the T10 tablet, a budget tablet that lacks bells and whistles but gets the job done.
Priced at Rs 13,500 (for Wifi + LTE version), let’s find out what the total cost of the tablet is.
Nokia T10: Build quality and display
The tablet makes streaming, work or video calling easy thanks to its 8-inch HD display and dual stereo speakers.
The Nokia T10 looks similar to the Nokia T20 tablet, but it has a polycarbonate plastic body to cut corners. The quality is still decent, but it looks durable. The flat edges give it a neat look and there is only one color ‘ocean blue’ which looks great. At 375 grams, it is very easy to carry and use regularly.
The T10 comes with an IPX2 rating, which doesn’t offer much protection, but the tablet can withstand minor water splashes.
The bottom has a USB-C port, a speaker grill, a Micro SD slot and a SIM card slot, and the top edge has a power button, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and another speaker. On the top right are the volume buttons.
The dual speakers offer a solid sound output and I enjoyed watching movies, web series and T20 World Cup matches on the tablet.
Since you can get the tablet in either 32GB or 64GB memory configurations, an SD card can come in handy.
Display
The T10 tablet has an 8-inch IPS LCD display (1200×800), HD+ resolution and large bezels. The screen has a 16:10 aspect ratio and a brightness of 450 nits.
The display isn’t too impressive since it’s a basic tablet, so you won’t be able to enjoy the viewing experience, but you can use this tablet for reading, taking online classes, or making video calls. However, widevine is L1 certified so you can enjoy Netflix in HD resolution.
Nokia T10 tablet: performance
The T10 comes with stock Android 12 out of the box and you get a very clean interface. The overall performance of the tablet is good for everyday tasks. Most apps are not optimized for tablets, so in many cases you get scaled versions of phone apps.
The tablet is powered by the UNISOC T606, which is not a powerful chipset but is good for web browsing, streaming content and social media.
I don’t recommend gaming on this tablet as there are signs of stuttering even after playing for a while, even with basic games that aren’t performance heavy.
There is an 8 MP primary sensor with LED flash and a 2 MP sensor on the front. As with most budget tablets, the camera isn’t too big, and it’s easy to capture documents, notes, etc. enough to take pictures.
You also get three years of security updates and two years of OS updates, meaning your device won’t be out of favor anytime soon.
Nokia T10 Tablet: Battery life
The tablet has a 5250 mAh battery, which is enough to use the tablet for a whole day of reading and streaming. With some heavy use, the tablet can last 7-8 hours on a full charge.
Nokia T10 tablet: the verdict
The Nokia T10 tablet is a decent offering at Rs 13,500 and is aimed at users who need a basic tablet.
The build quality is decent and the display is good for online classes and streaming media. The dual speakers offer a loud sound output that adds to the overall experience.
Plus, you can use your SIM card so you don’t have to rely on Wi-Fi all the time. Being a budget device, you can’t expect much from a tablet, but it’s a great device for everyday use.
