Banning negative messages on Facebook, Instagram
According to Meta, the visibility of hate speech on Facebook and Instagram has decreased significantly. In its latest report on Integrity and Transparency, Meta reports that the rate of detection of bad news fell from 95.6% to 90.2% in Q3 20233.

That’s not all! The company says that when it comes to bullying and harassment, Meta saw a drop from 76.7% to 67.8% on Facebook and 87.4% to 84.3% on Instagram.

The report also states that Meta removed 16.7 million pieces of content (some of which were mislabeled and later retracted) related to terrorism, 4.1 million ads about drugs, and 1.4 billion pieces of spatial information across its platforms.
Meta’s AI can detect funny words that might be used between friends. In addition, he may perceive words that are considered negative/inappropriate in one context but not in another. “As we improved this accuracy, our detection rate for malicious communication decreased from 95.6% to 90.2% in Q3 2022.”
Meta appears to have improved ways to identify and prevent spam on Facebook, including removing users who engage in “dishonest behavior.”
