NEW YORKAfter topping 1 billion for the first time in 2021, a new analysis by S&P Global Intelligence predicts that connected video devices in the US will top 1.1 billion in 2026 and the number of smart TVs will grow from 208.5 million in 2022 to go. 224.8 million in 2023 and 274.2 million in 2026.
The data shows how much US consumers have embraced the streaming revolution, and the US installed base of video devices connected to the internet is on track to increase at a 2.3% annual growth rate from 2021 to 2026, according to the new S&P World Markets . The intelligence analysis was released ahead of the holiday shopping season.
But estimates expect a steady 8.5 devices per home for broadband throughout the forecast, indicating that households have reached the point of streaming video devices, the researcher said.
The report also predicts that the installed base of broadcast media players will decrease from 37.6 million in 2022 to 24.3 million but the number of broadcast media players installed in American homes will increase from 78.4 million in 2022 to 103.2 million in 2026.
