Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S8 series of tablets earlier this year and it has been a very popular set of devices. They bring the most powerful mobile hardware together with Samsung One UI software. Now the company seems to be working on a mid-range version of the tablets. We’ve had a brand new Galaxy Tab S8 FE for weeks.
Samsung’s FE editions of its devices have become very popular. It stands for “Fan Edition” and is a mid-cycle release for Samsung devices. If you don’t have the money to buy the best version of the device, then the FE version might be perfect for you.
We have information about the Galaxy Tab S8 FE
This news comes to us from several sources, including Phone Arena. Samsung is rumored to announce this tablet early next year. The announcement should come around the same time Samsung announces its Galaxy Tab S9 tablets. This is not surprising as FE versions of Samsung devices are usually announced on next generation devices.
What we do know about the Galaxy S8 FE is mostly hearsay, so you’ll want to take this information with a grain of salt. It will almost certainly be called the Galaxy Tab 8 FE. We know the model number will be SM-X506B. The tablet is codenamed “Birdi”.
It is expected to be a mid-range version of the Galaxy Tab S8 tablet, so it will not use Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or 8 Gen 2. Instead, the tablet is expected to use the mid-range MediaTek Kompanio 900T.
Currently, we don’t have any information about the potential Ram or storage options of this tablet. Being a mid-range tablet, it is likely to have between 6GB and 8GB of RAM and between 128GB and 256GB of onboard storage.
As for the display, we’re looking at an LCD panel. We don’t know exactly what the LCD panel will look like. Samsung has stopped producing its LCD panels. A company outsources production to another company.
S Pen support is possible
One of the key features of this tablet may include S Pen support. The Galaxy Tab S7 FE came with a built-in S Pen, so we can expect it to arrive with the next iteration. But we cannot say for sure yet.
S Pem makes this tablet ideal for artists who want a drawing tablet without paying too much. It probably comes with WACOM digital for high quality input. At this point, we don’t know much about this tablet, but more information will be revealed as the year draws to a close.
